Just Gotta Stitch

Taking a break while caregiving. Since all was well, I just had to stitch something!

Blossoms -- Delphinium Group Project

Group project exhibiting delphinium florals from several textile artists!

Here's mine:
small art quilt or wall hanging, hand dyed background, plus fabric blossoms.

Long Beach Train Commission

An associate asked me to create a wall hanging, suitable for framing, for the City of Long Beach. It commemorates, a project he had recently completed, standing at one of the many parks near downtown Long Beach.
The historic city train is muted in the background, his wonderful sculptured model stands life size at the park.

Needlework Exploration

A while back I asked a good friend of mine about free-form embroidery.  I love Mia Bloom's original, authentic, fabulously simple thread work, so I asked her to coach me!
Check out her innovative designs and collage:  http://miabloomdesigns.blogspot.com

While re-organizing & re-purposing I found a practice piece I stitched with Mia's tips in mind.  Thought I would share it with you all.  Do you have a handwork tip to share with us too?  Please comment below-
