This is the third portrait in the series, finished at 11" X 12". I am enjoying this series, I think I'll just keep on playing. I do favor the black/white/gray value work, so I will stay that course for a while.
Added below is the finished photo for piece #2. I like to use a linear design for the "wallpaper" machine quilting behind the portrait.

Nobel Seasons Traveling Exhibit to Soft Expressions Upstairs Gallery
Reception for Noble Seasons - FALL 2011 is Saturday, November 12, 2011 at Soft Expressions, Anaheim, Ca from 1:00 - 3:30. Please join us. The exhibit will be at Soft Expressions for 2 months.
My piece for Nobel Seasons - Fall is titled "Favorite Season" and is 32.5" W X 26.5" H. I wanted to depict falling leaves with the look of a watercolor painting. I used hundreds of cut slivers of fabric. Great fun and a big mess in my studio.
